Diamond Dogs: An inside the clubhouse therapy group. It’s all the men who are in charge of the team (Coach Ted, Coach Beard, Higgins, Nate and then Roy). They all come together to talk relationships. And they do get to the bottom of things.

Biscuits with the Boss: Ted’s first and greatest gift – real, homemade biscuits with Boss Rebecca. He wins her over with a food that brings her back home.

Gift of a Book: Each player on the team gets a gift, some don’t like they have been given a gift, but they learn to appreciate it. Roy’s reaction when he hears the plot is worth the wait.

The Closet: An on-going thread. Higgins gives up his office for the team therapist and once he’s out, he kind of “fits” elsewhere.

Entrances and Exits: Always the “Ted” show. From slips, intentional falls, reverses, and high-fiving the tree. It’s fun to see what’s next.

Pitch: Field

Gaffer: football coach

Boots: soccer shoes (also the trunk of a car)

Kit Man: Nate’s job. The kit man is in charge of keeping players’ uniforms, shoes (boots), and towels clean.

Other football (soccer) terms:
Nil: zero
Into touch: out of bounds
Offsides: Ted never knows what it means
Park the Bus: Playing ultra-defensive not to concede any goals, chiefly applied by team with the edge on the scoreboard.

Tie: Games can end in a tie! (Though as we learned in the first podcast, not as God intended, She did invent numbers!)

Tea: Dirty water, hot brown water, garbage water, “tell me this is a joke” kind of drink. For Ted, he and tea are a no-go and “on a lifelong hiatus.” Sorry Pastor Joe. Others do enjoy their cup on the show, just not Ted.
